Isaiah 53:4-6
“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
We can only approach God through Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. Being God the Son and having lived a sinless life, He is uniquely qualified to rescue mankind from certain, eternal death. We all need rescuing because we are fallen and were deceived by sin. Consider today what it must have been like for Jesus to endure all He did on His road to the cross. Consider the love and commitment He feels for us, because He had the power to stop all that pain for Himself. Yet, He did not stop it. He walked in obedience and love, choosing instead to be crushed so that we would have hope in Him. http://www.verse-a-day.com/Apps
