Jesus into The Wilderness

Matthew 4:1-4
“Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

Jesus goes to the wilderness and is tempted by Satan. Consider the magnitude that Jesus went 40 days alone, was tempted during that time by Satan, and remained without sin. Jesus could have changed the stones to bread, it was within His power to do so. Instead, He cites part of Deuteronomy 8:3, “So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.” (NKJV)
